On the afternoon of June 17, 2009, nearly 40 professionals took a break from work to enjoy a lunch at Palm Too in Midtown. We were so pleased that everyone showed up hungry for a delicious meal AND hungry to make tons of new business contacts! Networking For Professionals Co-Founder, Amanda Nissman, found a moment during the meal to snap a couple pictures of our guests. Check them out below. Thanks to everyone for coming out. We hope you had a pleasant meal and are already busy following up with your new contacts today!
The 111th Congress and President Barack Obama have decided to make health reform a major legislative priority in 2009. Despite a flagging economy and a severely challenging fiscal climate, many politicians (and citizens) believe that the time has arrived to change the way our nation finances health care. Absent in the current discussion regarding reforming our ailing healthcare system is a serious discussion on a key issue overlooked by many: cost. There is a bright spot in this area that has been largely ignored by the mainstream press and print media: HSA’s, or Health Savings Accounts. These tax advantaged plans have quietly performed better than expected in reining in runaway costs, while giving employees the incentive and ability to save money for the future, especially for medical expenses when they retire. Where did HSA’s come from, anyway? HSA’s were signed into law by President George Bush on December 8th, 2003, as a ...

If you're fond of fondue, like to network and live in the Atlanta area...There was no better place to be on May 12th than at Shakers and Stirrers Atlanta! Networking For Professionals held our monthly networking mixer for the first time at the Midtown Melting Pot last week and a good time was had by all. Our host Dion and co-host Sandra made sure our guests felt welcome as they arrived at the private room we reserved for the evening. The Melting Pot put out a delicious spread of fondue and lots of tasty items to dip with. Thanks to everyone who attended for making the evening so fun and worthwhile! We hope to see you again soon!

Wow! High Speed Networking in Atlanta this week was sensational. Thanks to CNN for coming along! What a great event! We hear the professionals CNN were following got some good leads at the event and everyone had a great time! The segment should air this weekend at multiple times so stay tuned to CNN! Here's a picture of our NFP host Thom Abbott with the wonderful CNN anchor, Fredricka Whitfield. We think CNN should also come to our "Where the Jobs Are" event in NYC. Cheers, Amanda Nissman

Would you even think of going to a doctor who did not have the proper credentials or expertise or to any other professional if they did not have the right certificates up on the wall and the experience to back it up? I don’t think so. The same holds true for your trusted financial advisor, your Certified Public Accountant. Although having the right CPA is not necessarily a matter of life and death as it can be with a doctor, it can make a difference in relation to your financial well being. Why it is important to have a qualified CPA is an easy question to answer. Your accountant should not be someone who you see ...

On Wednesday June 11, 2008, Networking For Professionals, a national networking organization, held it's monthly "Shakers and Stirrers" business mixer at Oscar Taylor's Restaurant in Phoenix, AZ. Over eighty people attended this months' event. Attendees were comprised mostly of established professionals in areas such as law, accounting, marketing, real estate and finance, although the event also attracted some entrepreneurial types and small businesses. Guests and members enjoyed complimentary appetizers and more importantly the opportunity to meet other professionals, in the hope of making quality business connections. After the event, people who had registered online received the list of attendees by email. "After all NFP events we send out the list of attendees to help professionals follow up with their new contacts. Follow up, after all, is key to successful networking!" says co-founder of "Networking For Professionals", ...
