Another fantastic evening of High Speed Networking took place on Monday June 22, 2009 at Public House. More than 30 smartly dressed attendees descended upon the Midtown eatery in an effort to expand their professional connections and enjoy a great after-work happy hour. High Speed Networking is a fun and fast way to meet a ton of professionals. It's for anyone who prefers to get down to the nitty-gritty of networking ASAP to see if there really is a connection between you and your conversation partner. Networking For Professionals Founder, Amanda Nissman, was on hand to teach our brave participants how it all works and to keep the group moving every 4 minutes! We hope you all had a wonderful time and made some new connections. See you again soon!

On the afternoon of June 17, 2009, nearly 40 professionals took a break from work to enjoy a lunch at Palm Too in Midtown. We were so pleased that everyone showed up hungry for a delicious meal AND hungry to make tons of new business contacts! Networking For Professionals Co-Founder, Amanda Nissman, found a moment during the meal to snap a couple pictures of our guests. Check them out below. Thanks to everyone for coming out. We hope you had a pleasant meal and are already busy following up with your new contacts today!

So I'm sitting at NFP's Shakers and Stirrers event, shaking hands and taking names (Smile). After the first hour, I notice a theme. In almost every conversation, people spoke about their fears. It didn't dominate the conversation by any means...just an interesting trend of openness. One of the most common fears, is the fear of self-introductions. However, no one present was a wallflower. I'm usually the crazy walking up to people, "Hi! I'm Ninapilar"...well at this event it was pretty equal. Those who admitted they were a bit nervous thought the crowd would be smaller - they were expecting around 50 and there were roughly double that number. Not everyone signs up online so sometimes the crowd is much bigger than in the confimed attendee list shown online. Complimentary appetizers in a comfortable pub's private room will do that. (Smile.) They just need a little Happy Hour Power... What you ...
Our first "Where the Jobs Are" event at Public House last Monday was a great success, and attended by over 100 professionals. Similar to a pink slip party, it drew jobs seekers from a cross section of industries, but a great strength of this event, and a bonus to those looking for a position, was the high ratio of recruiters & hiring companies to job seekers! Thank you to everyone who attended! This event saw the launch of our new service - Resume Reboot! Get your free evaulation at http://www.networkingforprofessionals.com/resume.php Here's some feedback we received about the event: I enjoyed the networking event last night at Public House. It was my first one and I am happy I attended because now I want to keep going to as many as I can." I attended last night's NFP event and just wanted to ...

The building's exterior and lobby had a traditional look to it. The eleventh floor however, was quite the opposite. Techspace is a brand that offers loft-like "premium real estate" - 70 office suites and 370 workspaces. Made for startups and small businesses. The costs are supposed to be much lower than a traditional lease. I was greeted by Amanda, the President of Networking for Professionals (NFP). I filled out my name tag, grabbed a glass of white wine (I think by Yellow Tail? - so that I could take it into the conference room), and spoke with a few other attendees just before the event began. NFP is in nine cities (New York, Long Island, Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Scottsdale Miami and Ft. Lauderdale) and promised "an intense series of one on one business networking." ...
