As this long winter finally begins to thaw, our Manhattan networkers seem to be coming out of hibernation! Nearly 50 professionals were on hand at our signature networking mixer, Shakers and Stirrers, to build new business relationships and relax after work. Recently, the Manhattan branch of Networking For Professionals kicked off 2011 with their first 'Shakers and Stirrers' networking mixer of the year. Though the threat of snow loomed over the event, many smiling professionals braved the weather to join us at O'Brien's Irish Pub near Times Square. As the temperature across Manhattan reached a boiling point, a great group of professionals chose to cool off, grab an icy drink and network at Shakers and Stirrers NYC on July 13. Our trusty stomping grounds, O'Brien's Irish Pub near Times Square, was the site for this wonderful gathering where professionals from myriad backgrounds came together to mix, mingle and keep out of the heat! High Speed Networking is one of the most intense - and rewarding - networking opportunities offered by Networking For Professionals. On April 13, NYC professionals converged on The Galway Hooker Pub in Midtown Manhattan, armed with their best elevator pitch and a handful of business cards. They participated in a series of lightning-fast 4-minute introductions over the course of the evening. Our March event was held at venerable business lunch spot, Palm Too, where our savvy networkers dined on a spectacular 3-course meal while making new professional contacts. Thanks to everyone who joined us for "Where the Jobs Are" NYC on January 26th! Job-seekers, recruiters, hiring companies and HR professionals turned up for this special jobs-focused event at Slattery's Midtown Pub last week. Criteria for Success, St Joseph's College, Julie Melillo Life Coaching and Platinum Properties held court as sponsors for "Where the Jobs Are," which was attended by over 75 professionals. January is historically a fantastic time for networking. With the promise of a fresh start that each New Year brings, professionals make resolutions to advance their career, grow their business and be more proactive in making new business contacts. On January 12th, it was evident that NYC professionals are no exception. Networking For Professionals' first High Speed Networking event of 2010 at the Galway Hooker Pub attracted an outstanding crowd of 45 accounting, law, marketing, financial, HR, realty and IT professionals (just to name a few). Each participant got that chance to speak one-on-one and meet a multitude of people at this fast-paced event. Thanks to everyone who trekked through the windy winter night to be there - we really enjoyed meeting you!
